The Edo government, in an effort to increase revenue and clamp down on what is seen as a vice, has announced an end to betting in the region.

How to Play End of Edo

The game of "End of Edo" is a two player strategy game that can be played on a flat surface or a 3 dimensional board. The game is based on the history of Japan. The goal of the game is to capture your opponent's capital city.

Each player has a set of pieces and a board to play on. The pieces are: king, lords, generals, and troops. The board has cities, castles, and borders. There are three different kinds of troops: cavalry, foot soldiers, and artillery.

Players take turns moving their pieces with the following rules: -Cavalry can move two spaces in any direction, except diagonally. -Foot soldiers can move one space in any direction, except diagonally. -Artillery can only move one space at a time, but it can go over walls and other pieces.

Players can also attack their opponent's pieces using their cavalry and foot soldiers. If an attacking piece occupies the same space as an opponent's piece, the opponent's piece is captured and removed from the board. If an attacking piece is not able to occupy the same space as an opponent's piece (because there is another piece in the way), then the attacker does damage to the defending piece according to this chart: -Cavalry does 2 points of damage -Foot soldiers do 1 point of damage -Artillery does 3 points of damage

The game is over when one player captures their opponent's capital city or one player runs out of pieces. The player with more points at the end of the game wins.
